Anyone for Tea and Scones?

So in boredom this afternoon, and with a craving for something homely and sweet I decided that scones should be on the menu!

So I set to, in the kitchen and made a batch of scones! Seriously easy and every bit as satisfying!

So... Ingredients:

150ml Pure Cream
150ml Full Fat Milk
2 Cups of Self Raising Flour
1 Egg
1tbs Castor Sugar

Method... lol Sift the flower into a tupperware container (I'm using a lettuce container) add everything else, and shake the living daylights out of it! :) Once you've shaked rattled and rolled the mixture, for a few minutes, scoop the mixture out onto a floured piece of baking paper. Using a scone or cookie cutter, cut out your scones and pop them onto a baking tray. They go into the oven for about 10 minutes. My oven is crazy and has a little more tude (attitude) than I like, so 10 my scones are a little browner than they should be, so keep an eye on them!

Serve them up with your choice of jam and of course some cream!

Afternoon tea.... delicious! mmmm

Hello London, Paris, Greece & Turkey!

Hi All,

So a quick update on my progress with moving to Europe!

I am going to base myself in London as you all know, and then I am going to do some travel, then go back to London to consider working or something along those lines.

I am really looking forward to getting to London as there are so many wonderful things to see, and so much still have I want to do.  I can't wait to get back to places like Harrods and actually know my way through the winding mazes of designer fashions, Hyde Park with it's cute little squirrels and lovely sunny afternoons and of course Oxford St and Kensington High Street!!!! Oh I die!!

Currently, my travels are kind of organised and kind of not... lol I've booked in to a wonderful French cooking school in Paris to do a couple of  courses in the first weeks of June. Originally I was going to book in at Ritz Escoffier for a  couple of weeks worth of solid training, and this is still very much an option, but I wanted to get a taste of things first, enter Atelier Des Sens.

This means I will be spending a few weeks in Paris, which is fantastic! I am even considering finding a little apartment somewhere in the city, and staying there for a couple of months! There are still so many things in and around Paris that I want to see, and it would give me a fantastic opportunity to learn French and eat too many croissant and baguette!

I will be spending my 27th birthday this year in Greece! Well the Greek Islands to be exact! Mykonos looks like it will be where I will be partying the night away! This morning I have booked a tour of Italy, Greece and Turkey, covering Rome (again haha third time lucky) Naples, Pompeii, Capri, Sorrento, Brindisi, Corfu, Athens, Santorini, Crete, Mykonos, Patmos, Rhodes, Izmir and Istanbul! I have no doubts in my mind that this will be spectacular and can't wait!!

As far as my packing is going, well that is a very very slow and tedious process! I have done an enormous shoe cull and have thrown out more pairs that I ever imagined I would, and I have also packed up about 80% of my clothes into "staying" and "shipping" boxes.

In packing up all of my things, I have realised how much absolutely useless crap I have! I have thrown out so much over the past few weeks, but am still left with alot of "stuff" that I don't know what to do with. I have copious amounts of bathroom stuff: hand creams (seriously how much hand cream does one person need? 12 different kinds? I think not!!!), moisturisers, hair product, nail stuff, perfumes, sunscreen and all sorts of other things. I am going to put this into a box, and it's up for grabs for all my girlfriends! haha

Well thats all that I can think of for now! :)

I will keep you all updated as I go along!

Going Going... Almost Gone!

Hi All!

Well.... It’s been a while since I have written anything much on my here, so I figured it’s time to start posting again!

So recent updates to my little life..... At the end of January, I finished my Euro/Egyptian/Saudi adventures and arrived back to the land of oz, just in time to pack up the rest of my house and move.

For the past few months I’ve been living back on Brisbane’s North side, which at the moment seems like forever away from anywhere and everywhere!

It’s been a relatively quiet couple of months, my wonderful business has been busy, but my social life, well, that’s been a little dead! Lol

So how does one rectify a dead social life you may ask? Well... one packs up their entire life and moves overseas!  Yep! That’s right! I’m moving! Where? Europe of course! Why? Why not! How long? It could be days or it could be years! At this stage I’m not putting a time limit on it as I really have no idea how things will go. I also don’t have much of a plan in place after I get there.

It all feels a little surreal at the moment, and it wasn’t until today when I started packing my first boxes and marked them “for shipping” that things really hit home!

The only things about moving I’m actually sure about are:

  1. It’s definitely happening some time in May (that’s right, I haven’t set a date yet)
  2. this is the start of a grand new adventure
I also know that I want to see more of Europe while I am over there, so I am considering doing Greece including the Greek Islands and Turkey as the first stops on my itinerary. Not sure how or how long for yet, but that will come in time.

Well I think that’sn all for the moment! I’ll keep you all updated with what’s going on!

Ciao for now! J
