Let them eat cake... and coffee... and throw in some ink!

It's been a busy day all around today! I had a wonderful bowl of coffee with a dear dear friend this morning, who had all sorts of fabulous news to tell me! I am very proud of her and ever so happy for the  wonderful things to come for her!

My bowl of coffee!

After my bowl of coffee, I had an appointment to have my eyebrows touched up! The lovely Diana Joyner, initially tattooed my eyebrows about 4 weeks ago, and today I had my touch up appointment!

Generally I fill my brows in, but decided after seeing a friends that I would go and have them done! Word to the wise... down some panadol or neurofen before you go, and emla cream is your friend (not that I used it)! I did the panadol the first time, and forgot this time round, and my god the pain difference was HUGE! Last month on a scale of 0 to Texas Chainsaw Massacre I would have put the paint at around a 3... This time, we were definitely a lot closer to Texas Chainsaw Massacre! lol I don't now why, but today really hurt! The outcome however, are lovely defined brows, that well, look a little dark at the moment, but will be lovely in about a week's time!

You'll have to excuse the horrible photo, but you get the idea. Dark and angry at the moment!

So I was bored this afternoon, and decided to whip up a vanilla butter cake with musk butter cream icing!
I didn't document the whole process, and if anyone wants the recipe let me know.

The oven in our house, literally has a life of it's own! It's warmer on one side of the oven and no matter which setting I try, it's always something different! My 45-50 minute baking time took 25 minutes!

I've had the icing in the freezer for a while, as I made another cake earlier this year with the same icing, but after thawing it out, adding some extra butter, and giving it a good belting around, all was lovely, purple and lustrous! I added a few silver cachous and voila!

Cake!

Hope you are all safe and well!

I'm in LOVE, and I've fallen hard!

Well it's been a pretty interesting week this week, there has been a heap going on. I've been packing and folding and packing and folding, and boxing and bubble wrapping like a crazy person!

In amongst all of the packing going on, I've been doing little bits of work here and there. Now, over the past few months (probably about 12 in total lol), my wonderful Asus Notebook, has become... well, a little senile… I bought it in about February 2012, and well when it comes to computer years, based on hours used, I think my laptop was probably about 134 years old! Which in turn probably means that it should be taken to a paddock and shot (Tommy Jordan styles, minus the commentary, and maybe plus a few words… ).

This morning, while my little Asus took 10 minutes to boot and open Microsoft Outlook I made an executive decision to actually go through with purchasing a new computer of some sort today!

So here is where my love story begins!

I went in to the Apple store a few days ago to ask about their 17” MacBook Pro. The Sales guy (Brett – props for being awesome!!) looked into a few things for me, and gave me a pretty good run down of what the MBP does and can do! Well, with it’s aluminum case, and shiny black buttons, anti-glare screen and 2.5ghz processor…. I was in Lust! Lol  It’s taken me approximately a week to go back and find Brett, and decide to dive head first into the world of the MacBook Pro!

Well a little over $3500 later, I left with a shiny new toy all of my own! Including a copy of Microsoft Office for Mac, and a copy of a program called Parallels (which will bridge me to a Windows operating system when I need to work in Windows).  Fantastic!

I’ve had my little toy at home for just over 6 hours, and well my initial lust, has turned into LOVE! Yep, I’m in LOOOVE!  It’s fantastic! I’ve got all my programs set up, all my emails address on the one machine, and everything in the one place! It’s brilliant!

Well I’m making this short, but I will keep you all updated over the next few weeks, and see if my love affair with my mac, is indeed a long lasting relationship.

Hope you are all safe and well!

Ps. I think my Mac needs a name? any ideas?
